Found a dollar bill with a blue seal that says "Silver Certificate" across the top? From 1878 to 1964 these notes were redeemable for actual silver. What Makes One Worth More?
Condition. Collectors pay for crisp, original paper. A note that's never been folded can bring ten times what a worn one does.
Star notes. A star (★) at the start or end of the serial number marks a replacement note printed to swap for a misprint. Fewer exist, so collectors chase them. See our star notes for sale.
